Neuroscience Program


The Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience (IPN) offers a PhD in neuroscience. This interdisciplinary degree is a joint program between The College of Sciences, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences Department of Psychology, and the Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study at George Mason. It is administered by the College of Science.

The main objective of the PhD program is to train students to be research scientists in academia, industry, and government. The program provides students with an interdisciplinary academic environment for comprehensively developing their intellectual ability to successfully pursue a career in the neurosciences.

Students interested in behavior or cognitive neuroscience might also be interested in concentrations in biopsychology or human factors/applied cognition offered as part of the PhD in psychology. See links below.
